Rhea Isla – Bio and Mission Statement
Rhea Isla, MS currently works in the field of Faculty Training and Development and Instructional Design.
Over the past 14 years, Rhea has worked in many facets of Adult education and training in industries ranging from Insurance to Higher Education. Her passion is to help implement new processes and programs that lead to increasing learning opportunities for Adults. Since 2003, she has worked specifically in the Online and International education.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Her current educational goals include starting her Ph.D. in Educational Technology and E-Learning in the Fall of 2011. She currently facilitates business and ethics courses online as well as Faculty Training courses and professional development workshops.In addition to facilitation, she writes cutting edge and relevant content for college courses and training programs that integrate emerging technologies in education and business. As a first generation college student as well as Online learner, Rhea has direct knowledge of the obstacles that are faced by today’s adult learner who often juggles work, family and their education.
Over the past eight years, Rhea has worked directly with students in the capacity of mentor, advisor and instructor. Her experience of handling students in a one-on-one manner has provided her with valuable insight regarding the support and attention adult and first generation students need to become successful in a college atmosphere. She has taken this knowledge and applied it to developing workflows and processes at the Director level that directly impacted student retention and graduation rates in a positive manner.

The purpose and goal of my personal and professional life is to encourage empowerment and courageous acts for everyone I encounter through active leadership rather than passive actions.
This mission statement reflects the patience, resolve, motivation, compassion and knowledge of Adult learning and training theories needed to help all succeed. The goal is not to simply have students pass one course, but to help prepare them for a lifetime of active education, inquisitive thinking and a passionate thirst for knowledge.
